The Story

Origin: Lincolnshire, England

A robust hard cheese made from unpasteurised cow's milk, Lincolnshire Poacher combines the best characteristics of traditional West Country Cheddar with the sweet, nutty notes of Alpine cheese. Aged for 14-16 months, it develops a deep, complex flavour profile with a distinctive natural rind.

This award-winning cheese balances sweet and savoury notes perfectly, offering hints of toasted nuts, caramel, and grassy undertones. Its firm, crystalline texture and long finish make it a standout example of British artisan cheesemaking.

Serve at room temperature on a cheeseboard or incorporate into cooking for added depth. Excellent grated over pasta, melted in a toastie, or enjoyed with a crisp apple and wholemeal crackers.

Producer: Made by Simon Jones on his family farm near Alford, Lincolnshire. The cheese is produced using milk from their own herd of Holstein-Friesian cows, grazing on land that has been farmed by the family since 1917.

Allergens: Contains milk (unpasteurised)
